Working at Microsoft

We want you to think originally and collaboratively. In fact, our business depends on it. So we’re not going to constrain your imagination. Not by any means.

We won’t tell you to be at your desk by nine every single morning either. We’ll trust you to handle your projects your own way – in fact, 90% of our staff in the UK believe they work flexibly.

The place you’ll be working in is light, airy and comfortable. There’s an award-winning staff canteen and coffee shops to refresh you. There’s a well-being centre to keep you healthy. Xbox 360™ gaming stations, pool tables and table football mean you can give yourself a break. The buildings are wireless-enabled throughout so you don’t have to work at your desk if you need a change of scenery. (We even have great changes of scenery in terms of picnic areas and a landscaped lake.)

There’s nearly every sports and social activity you could hope for too, and valuable support groups covering every subject from single parents to the deaf and hard of hearing. In fact, we’re convinced we’re one of the pioneers of diversity. Multi-faith rooms and even menus cater for those who have special requirements during the working day.

If there’s anything we’ve missed out, start it. We’ll encourage you all the way.

Those aren’t the only aspects of life here that you’ll find inspiring. There are endless facilities to self-teach and add to your abilities. You’ll also enjoy up to 20 days’ training per year.

Perhaps more importantly for people who really want to be at the bleeding edge of technology, you’ll find that the group-wide emails we use to keep each of our colleagues up to date with new developments means you’re always at the top of your game.

Plus you’ll enjoy business exposure, significant responsibility and every opportunity to develop your career whenever and however you want to.

Make the most of it.
