Premier Field Engineers

Welcome home

'I've lived and worked in many different countries, including London and Sweden–as an IT manager for the Ministry of Transport–before I opened my own firm. Later came the chance came to join Microsoft. It was always my dream to work with this company; it is, after all, the biggest name there is, with the most famous products. I remember buying the Front Page package in '96 and I kept ringing the technical support number just to see what they were like.'

'I'm just back from working with one of my clients, the biggest telecommunications company in the Emirates. I'd say 90% of my time was spent on technical issues, and another 10% uses my 'softer' skills, relating to the client and

understanding what they need and why. I try to simplify things as much as possible as jargon only slows down the flow of conversations.'

'I live in Dubai with my wife and children but I travel a lot, more so in my first six months, when as well as working across the Middle East–Qatar, Bahrain, UAE–I also covered countries like South Africa and Greece, a country I love. I usually don't get to see much of the city when I'm working, but I still like to be surrounded by the different cultures; I find it all fascinating. I think you can only travel so much if you have a passion for what you do. And I certainly have that.'
